The Yonder Yurt

The Yonder Yurt
A snowcat-pulled sleigh carries you and your group, nestled under cozy blankets, over tree-lined ski runs to the Yonder Yurt where your server awaits your arrival and sparklers light up the snow. Warm your hearts in The Yonder Yurt's winter wonderland environment and your hands on a pewter mug of hot glogg; then enjoy a prix fix, gourmet, 3-course meal prepared by our acclaimed Chef. A large U-shaped table encourages lively, group conversation and allows your server to present and serve each specially prepared dish to the group. A quiet propane heater keeps the yurt warm and a satellite radio and DVD player provides background music selected to your personal taste.

Menu
Soup de Jour*
Entrée – Kobe beef tri tip with fingerling potatoes, baby carrots, winter vegetables in cabrales cream.**
Dessert*

* Please see the menu section of our website for current soup and dessert.
** Fish (Salmon), Whole Roasted Pork Loin, Leg of Lamb, Chicken or Pasta variations (great for children) can be arranged in advance. Limited space requires that we serve the same 3-course meal to the entire group as you can see from the photos the entree is served from one hotel pan. Therefore, we do not like to mix the entrees.

Food Allergies
Please notify us of any food allergies well ahead of time. Menus are set in advance and not easily modified due to our remote location.

Alcohol
Wine, champagne, beer, liquor, cordials, sparkling cider, sparkling water and bottled water (from Norway no less) can be purchased on the mountain. You may bring your own wine (but not beer or other liquor as in accordance to Utah State Liquor Law). A $15 corkage fee per bottle will apply. We can place specific beverages in the yurt ahead of time – please e-mail us to receive our beverage list in advance.

Meeting Place
Meet in the parking lot of St. Mary's Catholic Church (off Hwy 244) at 7:00 pm. (The office will give you easy directions to St. Mary’s and we’ll need your cell phone number.) You will follow us in your own cars to meet the sleigh, at 7:10 pm, at the bottom of the Tombstone ski run. You will be picked up again at 9:15 and brought back down by sleigh to your cars or taxi service by 9:30 pm. Because the same snowcat is used for transportation for both yurts, please be advised that we must stay on schedule. There are no snowshoe/x-c skiing/ski-dating tours offered with The Yonder Yurt.

Attire
It is important to wear warm footwear, as you will need to walk across snow. Snowpants and snowboots are your safest bet.

Cost
The Yonder Yurt is available for parties of 10 – 13. Smaller parties are welcome, but require a minimum fee equivalent to that for 10 people.
